Beverly Lehmann - Personal Results Coach/Visionary Coach
After college, I ventured to NYC for a modeling convention that changed my life forever. Although the convention proved to be a failure I made a decision to let my return flight to my rural Ohio town leave without me. With only $300 dollars to my name, homeless, jobless, and without the luxury of time, I took action! I rallied the few connections I had and by the day’s end, I had a temporary place to live, a modeling job that paid $800 a week and a very small modeling agency that agreed to work with me; I never looked back.
Modeling was not all the glamour and glitz that I had anticipated. From the five extra pounds that would never come off, to the jobs that wanted too much clothing to come off, for me, it was a breeding ground for negativity. I had finally made it into a reputable modeling agency, and as the well known agent reviewed my test photographs I glanced over her shoulder thinking how great they made me look! She turned to me and asked, “Have you ever considered a nose job?” My nose was part of me, it was my character and it was staying! Her comment was the straw that broke the camel’s back so instead of being a victim, I made a new choice and I moved on to a new venture.
As I moved into the acting world, I studied with luminaries such as Michael Shurtleff, Tony Award winner Vivian Matalan (Mornings at Seven), Oscar winner George Roy Hill (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid) and I managed to work Off Broadway with playwright Israel Horowitz. In fact my name is listed for originating two roles in the Samuel French version of the play Henry Lumper (Beverly Dretzel).
After performing in a lot of off-Broadway theater and landing the role of a French woman in a film (I don’t speak French!) I auditioned on Broadway. (I actually belted “My Heart Belongs to Daddy” from the Shubert Theater stage... and I don’t sing!) Most recently, I worked as the voice of Hillary Clinton (and I’m not a politician!) on Curtis and Kuby’s morning radio show.
I wanted to continue to grow as a person so I mentored a Sales Director and eventually took over his position. After playing that role for many years, I discovered that I had an innate talent that really shined; motivating people and I really loved watching people shift from fear to success.
Shortly after taking a vitamin company public; I joined an organization that focused on well being using hypnosis as a way to help overcome life’s challenges. That’s when I decided to leave the performance world as well as the corporate world to pursue my dream of becoming a personal results coach as well as a visionary coach.
I graduated from Coach University, the leading global provider of coach training as well as completing The Evolutionary Mentor Program with The New Visionaries, in the UK. I consider my studies to be a “life long learning project” because there is always another level of growth to reach. My strengths are in my ability to connect with others and help them tap into the visions that are there for them, just waiting to be actualized. That is the part of coaching that is so exciting! We ultimately make the choices that will determine our direction. The process gives “out of the box” a new meaning and led me to become the President and COO of Smingle.com, a social dating site for singles.
I consider myself a disciplined athlete, running approximately six miles a day five days a week. Yoga is becoming part of my training now, as well as Pilates and weights. I enjoy photography and am encouraged by my fabulous Nikon DX! Cooking also inspires me in the fall and winter months and I also have a passion for tasting and enjoying red wine. Eight years ago, I married the love of my life, Craig. We travel frequently; have two ‘boys’ (our Persian cats Avalanche and Blaze); spend our weekdays in Jersey City, NJ and our weekends at our home in the Pocono’s.
